GO GEORGE Communications workstream vacancy: Community liaison officer

Candidates who meet the following requirements are invited to apply for this fixed-period (1.11.2016 – 31.03.2018) contract position:

  • Registration on the GIPTN Affected Persons Register (APR)
  • Minimum matric qualification
  • Fluent in English, Xhosa and Afrikaans
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Supervisory skills
  • Good public-speaking skills
  • Computer literate
  • Currently residing in the GO GEORGE Phase 4 area (Thembalethu, Lawaaikamp, Parkdene, Conville, Borchards)
  • Own transport (Code EB drivers license)

Key functions:

  • Assisting with the execution of and communication about GO GEORGE events and roll-outs
  • Assist with public awareness campaigns, activations, including the management of volunteers
  • Distribution of information and marketing material to outlets
  • Organise and accompany school groups on GO GEORGE bus tours
  • Organise and present information and public awareness sessions
  • Other applicable duties as required by the organisation
