PACALTSDORP ROADWORKS

Road upgrades starting in Pacaltsdorp on Monday 14 October 2024 will impact several GO GEORGE bus routes.

ALERT: COVID-19 LOCKDOWN: GO GEORGE hours further reduced

May '20

GO GEORGE regrets to announce a further reduction in operating hours as of today, Saturday 2 May 2020. This follows directives received a short while ago from the National Department, which states that all passengers must be dropped off by 19:00. Therefore, the last buses into town from departure points in Pacaltsdorp, Parkdene, Rosemoor and Blanco will have to depart at 18:00, and from the CBD to these areas at 18:30. This is one hour earlier than was the case on Level 5.

We are acutely aware of the challenges this is causing passengers and employers and are engaging with the national department to review these changes. We hope to have clarity within a few days.

Health care and hospital workers

In the meantime, GO GEORGE is engaging with the Health Department and management of our local hospitals regarding transport arrangements for health care and hospital staff.

Retail and other open businesses

Until we have resolved the issue, we call upon employers to allow staff who use the bus service to leave earlier in order to catch the last buses transporting them home at the end of the day. Workers who need us to engage with their employers are welcome to leave a message at our Call Centre on 0800 044 044.
