A weekend of festivities lies ahead for the Pacaltsdorp community when the GO GEORGE bus service rolls out to that part of the city next week on 2 and 3 May. An exciting programme is on the charts for Friday 1 May (Workers’ Day), with the buses starting with Pacaltsdorp trial routes on Saturday.
A convoy of buses accompanied by the traffic department and fire brigade will drive into Pacaltsdorp with bellowing sirens between 09:00 and 10:00 on Friday, to park at the amphitheatre. From there, a march comprising municipal dignitaries, community leaders and a huge crowd of local school children, together with the popular Boys Brigade brass band, will hit the road to Hypersave where a festive programme awaits residents. Apart from the mayor’s official opening of the Pacaltsdorp routes, hip-hop dancers from Carpe Diem School and several other local artists will ensure a most entertaining morning.
