COVID-19

HOME IS THE SAFEST PLACE

BUS TRAVEL REMAINS A HIGH-RISK ENVIRONMENT FOR THE SPREADING OF THE COVID-19 VIRUS AND SHOULD BE A LAST RESORT.

GO GEORGE is operating reduced services in the interest of public health and safety and to help contain the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus – in line with the regulations and directives from Government relating to the national lockdown.
Buses operate daily from 05:30 to 18:30, only on certain main routes. (See related articles with the latest service details regarding schedules and routes in this section, or follow GO GEORGE on Facebook.)

Stay safe and only travel outside your home if you have to. This includes shopping for food, accessing health care or collecting social grants, or going to work if you are employed in an essential service.

Passengers are kindly requested to consider their own health and safety and that of co-passengers by:

  • not travelling if you are sick.
  • only using the bus when you can make absolutely no alternative travel arrangements.
  • coughing and sneezing into a tissue or flexed elbow and not into the air on bus, or while waiting for a bus. Do not leave tissues on the bus, please.
  • washing your hands regularly, for 20 seconds, and again after leaving the bus.
  • avoiding hugging, kissing and greeting people by hand.
  • standing 1,5 metres away from other people when boarding and disembarking.
  • keeping a seat open next to you on the bus.
  • avoiding touching common surfaces and not touching your face.

STAY SAFE – STAY HOME!
