GO GEORGE brings joy on third birthday

Georgie bakes cupcakes

GO GEORGE mascot, Georgie, will start baking in time to have a successful batch ready by Thursday! The public is invited to contribute cupcakes to the bus service's birthday outreach, Cupcakes for Kids. Georgie will make the delivery to Life Community Services on Friday.

GO GEORGE will be celebrating the bus service’s third birthday on Friday 8 December 2017, inviting the community of George to take part in their birthday outreach, Cupcakes for Kids.

“In addition to other celebratory activities, we want to say thank you to the people of George in some tangible way, and decided to donate cupcakes to Life Community Services on our birthday. In this way, we know for sure that we will be spreading the joy!” said James Robb, GO GEORGE Manager.

The public is invited to bake or buy cupcakes, decorate them in blue and green if possible, and bring them to the GO GEORGE Info Kiosk at the Transport Hub in Cradock Street on Thursday 7 December, between 08:00 and 17:00.

All through the day on Friday, mascot Georgie and GO GEORGE staff in colourful costumes will be moving about town with their “travelling celebration” – some on buses, some at the big circle in York Street, and between the Garden Route Mall and Eden Meander..

“As long as motorists keep their eyes on the road, the team would love to hear passers-by hoot to congratulate GO GEORGE,” said Robb. “And to make sure we paint the town green on Friday, all Georgians are invited to wear green on our birthday.”
