A two-week GO GEORGE communication campaign for the benefit of passengers using bus stops in the CBD was rolled out this week. The team of Champions are handing out GO GEORGE shopping bags, as well as leaflets requesting passengers’ cooperation to create a culture of mutual respect among users of the bus service. Issues that are addressed include littering, the use of alcohol and drugs, shopping trolleys, respecting the property of neighbouring businesses, the use of toilets, noise and foul language. To kick off the campaign, mascot Georgie popped over to the CBD stops on Monday afternoon and was greeted with enthusiasm by passengers who wanted to pose with him for photos. Here are, from the left, Nomhle Tshikolo (Champion), Elvinia Erasmus from Pacaltsdorp with baby Diego, Nomakhaya Kapayi (Champion), Desmorney Fredericks from Pacaltsdorp, Georgie, Nomalizo Linda (Champion) and Thandi Mateke (Champion).
