While the GO GEORGE communication champions have been engaging with residents in Parkdene, Ballotsview, Conville Borcherds and Lawaaikamp where the bus service will be rolling out new routes on 22 March 2020, bus drivers will also start route training in the area on Wednesday 11 March until roll-out.
“It will surely be exciting to see the buses crisscrossing the area for the first time, but residents need to take note that these are only training trips in preparation for the big day on 22 March and that buses will not be picking up passengers,” said GO GEORGE Manager James Robb.
The four routes include three main routes, Parkdene – CBD (Route 15), Parkdene – Garden Route Mall (Route 16), Parkdene – Blanco (Route 18), and a comprehensive community route (Route 51). This will connect these neighbourhoods with existing GO GEORGE routes operating in and between the CBD, Pacaltsdorp, Denneoord, Loerie Park, Rosemoor, Blanco, Heatherlands, Heather Park, and the Garden Route Mall.
