A municipal service delivery protest march from Thembalethu to the George Municipality on Wednesday, 6 July 2016 will impact the GO GEORGE bus service along Nelson Mandela Boulevard and York Street. Passengers need to take note of the following arrangements aimed at minimising disruption of the service.
Delays on routes 9, 13 and 14 (the two industrial routes and the City Loop) must be expected along Nelson Mandela Boulevard between 09:00 and 15:00, while a diversion from York Street will apply to the Pacaltsdorp routes 1A, 1B and 60. Between 11:00 and 14:00 these three Pacaltsdorp routes will run via Union and Mitchell Streets and stop at the City Loop (Route 13) stops to avoid the closed-off section of York Street between Nelson Mandela Boulevard and Market Street.
The situation will be closely monitored for the duration of the march on Wednesday, and any changes to the plan will immediately be communicated on the GO GEORGE Facebook page. The GO GEORGE Call Centre will also have the latest information and can be called on 0800 044 044.
GO GEORGE apologises for any inconvenience caused by this march, and wants to emphasise that the march has nothing to do with the bus service.
