Only buses may stop on bus stops

Do not stop on the bus stop

Private vehicles should never stop on designated GO GEORGE bus stops. Not only does this lead to dangerous situations and traffic congestion, but it also causes passengers to be late, or even miss their bus.

GO GEORGE bus stops have been designed to be a specified height so that the bus hoist or ramp that accommodates passengers with special needs, can safely be deployed and supported by the elevated sidewalk. Drivers are prohibited from stopping anywhere else.

Should another vehicle stop on a bus stop, several buses might end up standing in line to stop, obstructing traffic and intersections, while others might have to pass the stop without unloading or picking up passengers.

Please help us by never stopping on a bus stop yourself, and by discouraging such behavior among fellow motorists. This offence may lead to prosecution.
