GO GEORGE recently announced a change to the ticketing system of the bus service, enabling passengers to travel in any direction for one hour, with one ticket, including all transfers on their journey. This concession was widely welcomed by passengers, since many had previously had to buy a second ticket when interrupting their journey, or travelling back home on the same route.
Louisa Matthee uses the Denneoord bus to travel to work, interrupting her journey to drop her son, Ruan (2) at the Trippeltoontjies nursery school on her way into town. Previously, Louisa was required to buy another ticket when boarding the bus again, but now her entire journey is covered by one ticket. “I really appreciate GO GEORGE listening to their customers, having complained about it to the customer care service myself. It saves our family a substantial amount of monthly travel expenses,” she says.
2. Many of the senior citizens at the Rosemoor Service Centre for the Elderly regularly make use of the GO GEORGE bus service. These seven ladies were rejoicing about the new arrangement of “one ticket, for one hour, in any direction”. They can now easily travel into town or to the pharmacy to do their business, sometimes turning back within an hour, and all on one ticket.
