The GO GEORGE bus service, along with public bus services in most cities, has been suspended due to a national trade union strike since Wednesday, 18 April 2018.
The Municipality of George and Western Cape Government are deeply concerned by the impact the strike is having on the people of George and announced measures to ease the impact on regular users of the GO GEORGE bus service.
"We know one concern of our regular passengers is the one-month validity of our multi-journey ticket (MJT), which might expire while the strike is still ongoing," said James Robb, GO GEORGE Manager. "It has been decided that the validity of tickets already purchased will be extended. GO GEORGE will confirm the length of the extension applicable.
Unfortunately, the municipality is not in a position to offer alternative services to commuters for the duration of the strike."
The public is invited to follow the GO GEORGE Facebook page for continuous updates about the status of the bus service, or phone the GO GEORGE Call Centre on 0800 044 044.
