GO GEORGE bus driver strike suspended

George Link (Pty) Ltd, the independent vehicle operating company for GO GEORGE, has just informed the George Municipality that they have obtained an interim court order interdicting or stopping the planned strike by GO GEORGE bus drivers from 14:30 today. Furthermore, George Link has also received a notice of suspension of the strike from the union.

GO GEORGE therefore wants to advise all passengers that no change to normal services as previously anticipated for Thursday, 28th July, are foreseen. From 14:30 today, the bus service will continue to run according to the normal time schedules and routes.

James Robb, GO GEORGE Manager, once again apologises to GO GEORGE passengers for any inconvenience. "We assure our passengers that we will continue to monitor the current situation closely and advise them timeously of any changes to service. As always, the safety of the public, our passengers, staff and vehicles is of utmost importance and is kept in mind when taking operational decisions,” he said.

Updated information will be provided to passengers via the local media, the GO GEORGE Facebook page and website. Passengers are requested to call the Call Centre on 0800 044 044 with any queries.
