Go George route changes during taxi protest march

GO GEORGE bus service operates on the principles of providing a safe, reliable and affordable public transport network to the citizens of George and as such has identified that the taxi operators protest march planned for Tuesday, 27 July 2015 from Thembalethu to the George Municipality, will have an impact on bus routes during the morning.

Passengers need not be concerned – the George municipality as well as GO GEORGE are prepared and are making minor route changes to secure passengers’ safety. Part of York Street will be closed for the duration of the march. Please take note of the following route changes:

Buses from the CBD to Denneoord will travel via Cradock Street to Courtenay Street and not via York Street, from 9:00 – 12:00. The reverse route will follow the same route
Route 14 (Industria) will not be operational from 08:15 – 12:00
Routes 13 (City Loop) and 9 (Industria) will not be operational from 09:00 – 12:00
Pacaltsdorp buses into town will travel via Hope Street (from the airport circle) and not via York Street, from 9:00 – 12:00
Buses from Blanco to the CBD will do their normal routes, but buses going back to Blanco from the CBD will travel up Meade Street, left into Cathedral Street, left into York Street for a short distance, right into CJ Langenhoven Street, and follow the normal route thereafter.
