COVID-19 LOCKDOWN: Warning to passengers to stay safe

Social distance when boarding

It has come to our attention that passengers are becoming less cautious about staying safe and not using the bus service for any other than the most essential trips.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT REMAINS A HIGH-RISK ENVIRONMENT FOR THE SPREADING OF THE VIRUS AND SHOULD BE A LAST RESORT – NOT A FIRST CHOICE.

STAY SAFE – ONLY LEAVE YOUR HOME IF YOU ARE AN ESSENTIAL SERVICES WORKER, NEED TO BUY FOOD OR GET MEDICAL HELP.

Please remember that the same lockdown rules and reduced service still apply:

  • Only 20 passengers per bus are allowed.
  • Keep a distance of 1,5 between you and other people, at the bus stop, when boarding and on the bus.
  • Buses travel between the hours of 05:00 and 10:00 in the morning, with the last buses departing from CBD at 09:30.
  • The afternoon peak service starts at 16:00, with the last buses departing from the CBD at 19:30.
  • Make alternative transport arrangements if possible at all.

WE NEED EVERY MEMBER OF THE GEORGE COMMUNITY TO WORK WITH US TO WIN THE VIRUS!
