GO GEORGE is in the final planning stages of a series of route refinements to be implemented over the next few weeks. The first group of passengers who will rejoice because their requests have been taken to the drawing board, are the residents of Rosemoor and passengers travelling to Loerie Park.
To service needs on routes 53, 56 and 24, the following adjustments will be implemented on Sunday 6 March 2016:
Route 53 is getting an additional bus at 06:30, from Monday to Saturday, travelling via a shortened route from the Garden Rotue Mall to the CBD. This bus turns right into Beer Street from Wolhuter Street, and right again into Attakwa Street. From York Street, it turns left into Hibernia Street and not Market Street, like the other morning buses. Posters with these route descriptions and a map have been put up at bus stops in Rosemoor. This is a shorter, quicker trip and passengers are encouraged to see if it suits them better than the bus they have been taking up to now.
On weekday afternoons, two additional route 53 buses have been added on the normal route from the CBD, leaving from Cradock Street at 13:45 and 14:00. The previous 13:40 bus will now leave at 13:30. This means that there will be route 53 buses departing from the CBD at 13:30, 13:45 and 14:00.
One extra bus is being added to route 56 at 14:45 on weekdays, and route 24 gets an additional bus at 20:00 on Sundays.
